These terms govern your participation in the Beacon Movie Club SMS notification program. By opting in to SMS notifications, you agree to these terms.
Consent
By providing your mobile phone number and checking the SMS notifications opt-in box in your account Settings, you expressly consent to receive recurring transactional text messages from Beacon Movie Club related to your activity in the club. Consent to receive SMS is not required as a condition of club membership or any membership benefit. You may revoke your consent and opt out at any time using the methods described below.

Program description
Transactional text-message notifications about your activity in Beacon Movie Club, including:
- Disc loan events (request, approval, denial, return)
- Contributions you make to the shared catalog
- Feedback acknowledgments
- Occasional movie-night announcements
The program is operated by the Beacon Movie Club owner for current club members. There is no marketing content. There is no third-party advertising.
Eligibility
Beacon Movie Club is private and invitation-only. You must be an invited member of the club to participate in the SMS program. Invitations are extended at the discretion of the club owner.
Opt-in
To enroll, log in to your account at borrow.beaconmovie.club, navigate to Settings, enter your mobile phone number, check the "SMS notifications" box, and save. The opt-in checkbox is unchecked by default; you must take an explicit action to enable SMS.
Message frequency
Low. Typically 0 to 10 messages per week, tied to your own lending activity, plus occasional movie-night announcements. Maximum 30 messages per month. There is no fixed schedule; messages are sent only in response to events relevant to you (loan activity on items you've requested or contributed) or to the club as a whole (movie-night announcements).
Cost
Message and data rates may apply. Beacon Movie Club does not charge for SMS notifications, but your mobile carrier may charge you for receiving SMS depending on your plan.
Opt-out
You can stop receiving SMS at any time by either:
- Unchecking the "SMS notifications" toggle in your account Settings and clicking Save, or
- Replying STOP to any message you receive from us.
Standard SMS opt-out keywords are recognized: STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT. After you opt out, you will receive a final confirmation message and no further SMS from this program.

Reply HELP to any message to receive contact information for support. You can also email support@beaconmovie.club at any time.
Carriers
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery depends on your carrier and reception conditions.
Mobile information sharing
Beacon Movie Club does not sell, rent, share, or otherwise distribute your mobile phone number or your SMS opt-in consent to third parties, affiliates, or lead generators for marketing or promotional purposes at any time. Your phone number is shared only with Twilio, our SMS delivery vendor, and only for the sole purpose of delivering the messages described in these terms. No other information-sharing exception in our Privacy Policy applies to mobile opt-in data.
Privacy
For details on what data we collect, how it's used, and who has access, see our Privacy Policy. In particular, the Privacy Policy describes how phone numbers are stored, who can see them, and our retention policy after you opt out or delete your account.
Changes
We may update these terms with notice posted on this page. Continued use of the SMS program after a change indicates acceptance.
